25 Hours Of Thunderhill logoIn its first year of operation, Texas based Motorsports Development Group (MDG) will field a multi-car team at the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 25 Hours of Thunderhill in scenic Willows, California on December 3rd , 2011. The 25 Hours of Thunderhill is a racing adventure open to amateur and pro racers alike.  It is not uncommon for 70 cars to take the green flag on Saturday and their teams of drivers to motor to the checkered flag 25 hours later on Sunday.

The entrants consist of a wide range of racing series experience & background, which MDG prides itself on. "Professional Driver Development" can be obtained from beginner kart racing (with the development team KART NATION) to professional endurance racing with the Motorsports Development Group.

The MDG team driver line up for this event will consist of Stuart Robinson, Alec Udell, Adam Kelleher, Mike Bell, Todd Covini, and Bob Udell.   Three MDG prepared Spec Miatas will make the trek from Texas to California with eyes on the competitive E3 class, however, only two Miatas will take the green flag on Dec. 3rd for the grueling 25 hour race. The third car will be a backup resource for the team.

Team Principal, Stuart Robinson, commented: "The 25 Hours of Thunderhill is an amazing event which brings drivers from every discipline of racing.   Our team of drivers has been involved with many of the major racing sanctioning bodies and a handful of racing series.  MDG looks forward to bringing them together for this event and offering its drivers a professional racing experience and a podium finish.  Stuart further remarked, "I drove with my Grand Am team in the 25 Hr 4 years ago and it was the most fun I've had in a racecar.  I want my team and customers to experience that same enjoyment."

Alec Udell, the 15 year old 2011 World Challenge GTS racer, said "I look forward to working with the MDG team and drivers at Thunderhill. This is a cool event that will allow us to work on endurance racing skills & strategies which we plan to do more of in 2012."     Alec will celebrate his 16th birthday while driving in the 25 Hour event.

Team Principal, Stuart Robinson (The Woodlands, TX) is the General Manager of Kart Nation and MDG as well as a 7 time National Karting Champion and has over 20 years of experience driving and developing kids into professional race car drivers.  He has competed in multiple series including Grand Am's Koni Challenge, NASA and SCCA.

Alec Udell (The Woodlands, TX) at age 15 was recently called a "teen phenom" in World Challenge GTS competition.  Alec has been racing more than half his life since the age of 7 and continues to be involved with Rotax karting, as well as Spec Miata and World Challenge GTS racing.  Look for 2012 season announcements on www.alecudellracing.com

Adam Kelleher (The Woodlands, TX) has raced Spec Miata for the past several years and is also the lead mechanic at MDG.  This will be his first major endurance racing event.

Mike Bell (Conroe, TX) has raced competitively since 2003 in series such as the Camaro-Mustang Challenge, American Iron and most recently Spec Miata.

Todd Covini (Spring, TX) has 20 years of road racing experience in series such as Camaro-Mustang Challenge, American Iron www.nasaponycars.com and 944-Spec www.944-Spec.org This will be Todd's 4th Thunderhill endurance effort.  In addition to his driving duties, Todd is currently the National Series Director for NASA's American Iron Series as well as a Grand Am Field Official.

Bob Udell (The Woodlands, TX) has a rich family history in road racing with numerous SCCA Production car, Spec Miata & formula car races to his credit. He's no stranger to the World Challenge or Grand Am events.

Opportunities still exist for funded drivers and experienced crew to be a part of this multi car team effort to win the 25 Hours.  For more information, please contact Stuart Robinson at This email address is being protected from spambots.
