MOtorsports Development Group logoAs the 2013 racing season takes the green flag, both the annually contested NASA Texas Championship and premiere Motorsports Development race team do as well. With round one taking place at Motorsports Developments home track MSR Houston in Angleton, Texas, Motorsports Development (MDG) will field a strong team of ten drivers. With competitors in Spec Miata, American Iron, and American Iron Extreme, MDG will be looking to close the weekend off at MSR Houston Round 1 of the NASA Texas Championship Series with multiple race wins and podium results.

"We are ready for the 2013 season to get started," explained Stuart Robinson, Team Manager at Motorsports Development. "After a very short winter of testing and using the 25 Hour to strengthen our crew and drivers, I believe this year should be a year to set records and bring home more championships. We have assembled one of the strongest teams of drivers that Motorsports Development has had and I am really excited about the 2013 season."

With twelve drivers under the team tent, ten of them will do battle in the Spec Miata ranks with and Pirelli World Challenge Pro Driver, last year NASA Texas Spec Miata and Mazda Teen Challenge Champion Alec Udell leading the way. Udell will be joined by teammate frontrunner Hernan Palermo season ending race winner at NOLA Motorsports Park, and MSR Houston Winter Challenge frontrunner Nathan Stacy. Making the return to Motorsports Development in 2013 will be Spencer Smith, Cj Cramm, Jack Murray, Ardee Toppe, Mike Bell, Donald Bell, and Mark Smith.  New to the team in 2013 are Scott Adams and Clark Toppe always a frontrunner in whatever he is driving

A couple of competitors will see action in they're (MDG) Prepared FORD Mustangs as Mike Stacy will battle in American Iron with returning American Iron frontrunner Mark Smith and CMC Series frontrunner Todd Covini will try his hand in American Iron. While Stacy comes from the high horsepower side, the now turned American Iron racer has his brand new Motorsports Development built BOSS 302R and will look to outdo the over-15 group of drivers this season.

"My entire crew at MDG has done a great job in preparing for the 2013 Season," explained Stuart Robinson. "With some returning drivers and some new ones, the logistics of a program this size are tough. I have complete faith in my guys and know that we are in for a successful 2013 season."

With a strong team of drivers, a talented crew of mechanics and engineers is needed and that is exactly what MDG has put in place. With crew from around the country with all levels of expertise, more than 100 years of experience can be found under the MDG Team.  Crewing for the team this year will be Gary Robinson, Jeff Harris, Rob Schnabel, Ed Gilfus, Matthew Blansett, Gavin, Boyett, Cole Rogers, Buddy Hallett, and Chuck Udell.
